After becoming a qualified carpenter in 2009 our founder and CEO, Daniel Derrick, started out working for a well known loft conversion company where he gained valuable experience and knowledge of structural carpentry to add to his passion for his trade.
After a decade Daniel decided to spread his wings. He took the leap to start his own business, seeking to take on more varied carpentry work in his local area of Westbury, Wiltshire. He was ably assisted and encouraged in his endeavours by his partner, Charis, who undertook the admin work while mothering their two lively sons.
Our business flourished right from the off, and since becoming a limited company in 2021 skilled carpenter and project manager Daniel has taken on two more full-time qualified carpenters. We’ve also built up an association with a cracking line-up of local trades people – including plumbers, electricians and decorators – whom we can call on to play their part in any of the domestic building projects we take on in Westbury, Chippenham, Trowbridge or elsewhere in West Wiltshire.
Following Daniel’s lead we’re all committed to being sincere, honest, genuine and enthusiastic about every job we take on – we’re a proud bunch!
We have proved time and again that we are competent and capable of taking on domestic improvement and building projects of any size, delivering workmanship of a high standard which earns us five-star feedback from our clients.
As trusted industry professionals our company is a member of the Federation of Master Builders, the top builders’ trade body which demands exceedingly high standards in construction work, with a rigorous annual vetting process.
Our carpenters are City & Guilds trained to NVQ Level 2 and 3, and our pool of other local trades and crafts practitioners which we draw on to resource our projects are all selected for their qualifications, expertise, dedication and attention to detail. All our employees are CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card holders.
Each project is personally managed by our CEO Daniel, who is the client’s point of contact. You can rest assured we treat your home with the same respect as we would our own, and we’re not satisfied until you are satisfied.
We’re fully covered by public and employer liability insurance, and take site safety extremely seriously.

When he puts his tools away he enjoys gaming on PC and Playstation, and is a big Star Wars fan.

This footie fanatic is a big Man-U supporter, but he also likes a shot at skittles for his local team in Frome.
